Sustainability Blog Post #3

I have kept up with my responsibilities to save water and energy. I have kept reminding my parents and sister about what I am doing and tell them to join me. Its is working. I thought the sustainability fair was really fun. It really helped me to understand what other things are going on around the island to help the earth. As I explained my blog to a man, he told me about the water underneath the island. As he explained, once the water is pumped up it fills with salt water and from then on the fresh water will never ever again be fresh. I thought this was important because eventually there will be no more water down there and it will never again be able to have fresh water in there. This man also made me realize that we are really working on a personal level. This was important to me because it shows that if we all do small things on a personal level we are able to make a larger impact. It showed me that one person doesn't need to give up everything; but many people can give a little to get more work done. I will try to maintain where I am now and do more things to help with  the promises that I have made.

Chauncey, I am happy to see that you are trying to encourage your family to participate in the sustainability project. It is great to have support from people you know, Keep up the good work.

Listening to your story made me fell like i was actually there watching the man teach us about the use of fresh waterr. This is evident through your voice, that consistently exists throughout your blog posts. I hope to see your positive habits continue.

It's good that you're trying to get your family into this. After all, it's better--as you said before--if a bunch of people try to sustain, rather than one giving up everything. Good point. This man you speak of sounds interesting.

i think its very interesting that there are so many drawbacks from using the water underground yet it seens like its not a big deal to anyone. its really good that you learned something at the fair and you are still working oh changing your habits at home!
