Sustainability Post #2
I think I am making a difference in my house about the energy that I am saving. I think I still need to work on saving more water though. I seem to take the same length showers instead of cutting down. I have told my parents about what I am doing and they are helping me. We make sure that all the lights are out when we leave the house, even if it is just a short ride down to Punahou and back. I have to remind my sister a lot because she has the most lights in her room. After water polo, I usually just dry off and go down to get picked up, I think maybe if I rinse off at school I won't have to spend so much time in the shower at home getting all the chlorine off.

I like your idea about closing the lights whenever you leave the house, I do that too! ^_^ It's cool how you try to cut down on shower time by using the school showers after water polo too. It shows consideration, and that your actually thinking about the issue. I'm having trouble cutting down on showers/water use as well, so that was a good idea on your part.
It's a good thing to see that someone is helping other people become more sustainable and not just working on their own habits.
Your ideas are really clear in your writing. Clarity helped enhance this piece so that I felt like I was living with you, seeing you continue these habits.
Another good idea for saving water is doing things like using hand sanitizer when your hands don't get too dirty. Washing dishes by hand also uses a lot of water, and turning off faucets and sprinklers and things like that all help to save water. In terms of energy; hot water showers use electricity, so maybe taking cooler as well as shorter showeres will help to cut back on the amount of waste in both categories.
Good ethic! I like that! The guy is right about everyone giving up a little bit instead of a few people giving up everything. It's also cool that you can see the rewards you reap after you try to make yourself and your family sustainable.
